The group Hetairoi, Greek for companions, was founded in 2005 with the goal to be the first German group to recreate the life of people in ancient Greece from the late Archaic to the Hellenistic era. Soon after that, historical impressions from Thrace or Persia found their way into the group. In 2012 the Hetairoi became a registered association in Germany (eingetragener Verein) called Hetairoi e.V. based in Speyer.
Living History is just a hobby for all our members. Nonetheless we strive to always work based on the latest state of scientific research, and we are investing a lot of time researching the life of people in ancient Greece.
Working together with many museums in Germany and Austria, we were able to greatly extend the range of our historical impressions, and are capable of providing matching historical presentations for a multitude of occasions and topics. The association is always open to cooperate with museums and educational institutions.
